Thank you for this. I found making money on Medium too daunting from the beginning (I joined waaaay late), but the sentiment of this post is right where I'm living. My own writing trajectory took a hard turn last year so that I feel I'm starting over, too. I'm also totally living in that space of knowing I have to write what matters to me and do it for the love. I'm with you on the day job, but I haven't figured my way out quite yet.
